Orienting Asian American Theatre

In July of 2026, for their Performance Studies MA symposium presentation, Tsui-Chu invited an Asian American Theatre scholar to introduce the play Rooted(less) by Chinese American actor, Trevor. In the scholarly report, the complicated and exploitative relationship between commercial theatre, theatre criticism, and asian artists' agency to their identity reckoning is put on full display.
